Scholarship
You don't need to pay anything. All selected students receive a full scholarship funded by high-tech companies, covering all their educational costs. This allows students to focus on their studies without worrying about financial burdens.
To keep the scholarship for the Commercial Software Engineering program, you must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on the American GPA scale, which is equivalent to a grade of C or better. Academic performance is key to continuing to benefit from this comprehensive support.
Throughout their studies, the student will have access to various support options. If the terms established in the contract are not met, the scholarship awarded will become a repayment obligation. This means that the amount invested by the sponsor up to that point will be considered a loan, which the student must repay within a maximum period of 5 years.
This agreement is based on the principle of good faith, understanding that both parties—the company and the scholarship recipient—act with responsibility, commitment, and the willingness to fulfill what has been agreed upon. The company provides its support, trusting in the student’s potential, and in return, the scholarship recipient is expected to contribute their talent and dedication to the growth of the organization that invested in their education.
Academic life
Yes, we are a 100 % online university, allowing students from anywhere to actively participate in our academic programs from the comfort of their home or any location with internet access. Our commitment to virtual education is focused on providing flexibility and accessibility while ensuring a high-quality learning experience that combines both theory and practice.
While our classes are online, we uphold a strict attendance policy at Jala University. Each class session is important, and we believe that active and regular participation is essential for an effective learning process. We value the commitment of students to their education and consider attending classes fundamental to fully benefit from the resources and knowledge we offer.
At Jala University, classes are adjusted for each module and do not have a fixed schedule during the day. This means that students must have full-time availability to dedicate to program activities, as schedules can vary depending on the module they are in.
It is not advisable, as the courses we offer at Jala University are demanding and require significant dedication. The schedules for the subjects vary according to the module, so it is crucial to manage your time effectively to meet the program's demands.
It's not something we recommend at Jala University, mainly due to the workload and the level of
dedication required for our university programs.
At the beginning, classes and content are taught in Spanish or Portuguese, depending on the country. As the program progresses, subjects and content in English are added.
At the moment, as we are a U.S. university, we do not offer equivalencies or credit transfers with local universities. Read more here.
After graduating
If you receive a job offer from your sponsor, your salary will be paid in full and will not include deductions to reimburse the value of the scholarship, as it has already been fully covered by the sponsor during your education.
If within 90 days the sponsor does not contact you to make a job offer, you will be released from that commitment. Remember that Jala University is solely responsible for managing your placement with the sponsor. However, please note that receiving a job offer from the sponsoring company is not guaranteed.
If you receive a job offer from your sponsor, the employment commitment with the company that funds the scholarship is equivalent to the time spent in studies. This means that if a student completes their degree within the timeframe stipulated by the curriculum, typically 4 years, their employment commitment with the sponsor will also be 4 years after completing their studies.
The study program is expected to last 4 years; however, the university allows a maximum period of up to 6 years for its completion. It is important to note that if the study period is extended, the commitment period with the sponsor will also be extended. However, please note that receiving a job offer from the sponsoring company is not guaranteed.
